It's been a long time coming. It started here. Multiple users asked if Lineardraft could automate the creation of cross section, or elevation, drawings.
Now the Elevation Module alpha version has arrived, and is available exclusively to Lineardraft users as part of a pilot programme. Let's cover the key details.
What is the Elevation Module?
The Elevation Module applies the same Lineardraft ethos of using intuitive design tools and automation to significantly increase design efficiency without compromising on assurance, this time focusing on the creation of annotated elevation drawings.

As the module is an expansion to Lineardraft, this means any changes made to structures, wires, and equipment in a Lineardraft design, will be automatically updated in any created drawings. This means any affected annotations created with the module will instantly update, saving valuable time on rework.
It's also possible to save and reload drawing configurations so users can create standardised templates and reuse them quickly between drawings.

What is currently available as part of the module, however, is very much just the beginning...
What is the pilot programme?
The Lineardraft team knows how valuable the Elevation Module could be to the rail industry. That's why we have chosen to release the alpha version to Lineardraft users as part of a pilot programme.
Organisations that opt in to the programme will have access to the module free of charge, and will give feedback on various aspects of the tool, including the user experience and functionality, to help shape the feature-set of the module.
By engaging with not just users who will use the module on a day-to-day basis, but also key stakeholders in the rail industry, we aim to create a tool that delivers unique value in the form of tangible cost savings and design time reduction, and solve the key pain points of the current methods - just as Lineardraft already has for OLE design projects worldwide.
Further updates will be provided once the pilot programme concludes, and when the full release of the module is expected.
